The National Pork Board is now accepting applications for its 2017-2018 Pork Industry Scholarship program. The program is open to junior and senior college students with an interest in pursuing a career in a swine management or veterinary medicine.
In its eighth year of offering this program, the National Pork Board will award 21 scholarships: $5,000 to the top student, $3,500 to the runner up, and $2,000 to all other scholarship recipients. The awards are funded by the Pork Checkoff.
Online applications will be accepted until February 17, 2017 through the official scholarship website. Please note that all applicants must also provide official college transcripts and two letters of recommendation by mail or email. Selected students will be notified of their awards in April, and funds will be released for the Fall 2017 semester.
